Our Mission

To create a resource for students and young professionals who are committed to pursuing commercial art, and who wish to learn how to be better prepared to contribute to the creative community.

What is TRAN.sit?

Carson Sloan and Luke Watkins are two graphic design graduates from the University of Delaware who are making their transition from college to the professional world into something bigger.

Before we take that leap, before we accept that first job, and before we dive into the competitive world of design, we have one last class to take… call it an independent study. The classroom is three thousand miles of open road and the professor is anyone with an open door willing to give an hour of his or her time to talk design.

Every design student has taken design history and read about design culture, but what is the future of design and how do we forge it? How do we experience it in the making?

We can’t all pioneer the direction of the design world, but we all face or have faced the obstacles of pioneering a career. How do you find the right job? How will you find the firm that is that perfect match for you? How do you make your book stand above and beyond the competition? Will your book be good enough to get that job? How do I start my own studio? I can design, but can I run a business? What is the right direction to go? How do I make the right connections? For any student and graduate in this position, surely they can sympathize with what an overwhelming, nebulous task this all can be.

In a field that can be based as much on networking and personality as it is on creativity and skill; who you know can be the handshake between finding a good job and finding a great job. We have decided that we want to meet as many designers and creatives as we can; our direction is destined by a road map.
